I'll have to do some updating of the tests because the baseline is gretl-2016b.
What needs to be done is,
- Write a README.md file with instructions on how to setup and run the tests (this is based on an email from Allin)
- The system is only prepared to run in Linux
- There are tests requiring installation of Stata, Ox, Julia and Octave (I cannot install Stata)

It would be nice if someone would fork or clone the project and manage to run the tests with "make test-all". This would prove the setup is correct (because we will use a shell script to fake Allin's home directory).

Next steps would be:
- To prepare a Travis setup to run the tests on demand (for example after a new version of gretl or on demand)
- Create a different test framework and tests to test the GUI

So, if someone could, clone the project and manage to run the tests, it would be a good test, for collaboratively improve the system

Hope this would help. Sorry for not so good progress.

Hi everybody and especially Hélio,

one (Greek, I think) participant at the Gretl conference in Athens said that Gretl needs a suite of unit tests. We replied that Hélio had done some work on that, but nobody seemed to know more details.
Hélio, could you bring us up to date on that? Is it working? If not, what needs to be done?

thanks,
sven
