I conducted further investigation into this issue and found that the error message, "Argument 1 (ticker) is missing," persists in installations from gretl-2026a-32.exe and gretl-2026a-win32.zip. However, the error does not occur in gretl-2026a-64.exe.

Could this issue possibly be related to the 32-bit (win32) version only?

I'm testing the 32-bit version of 2025c and I can replicate Yi-Nung's problem. Incidentally, this is not the only glitch I ran into. I wonder if we should drop support for 32-bit windows versions.
