The rigorous way to fix the inconsistency would be to insist
on '.' as the decimal character in _all_ input contexts.
Perhaps we should consider that option.

I have a suggestion that, in my humble opinion, could at least partially help to finish this issue: What do you think about the inclusion of warning messages in the GUI context when the user tries to use commas instead of dots?
I really don't know if this is possible from the programming point of view, but if this is a not so code intensive task, I think we could give it a try.
