Sorry, but could you remind us what version of gretl you are running
(see /Help/About gretl) and on what platform?

The problem you described sounded strange to me (something about a
libxml2 DLL being missing?). Libxml2 is supplied in the gretl
package, and moreover is it not needed for importing Eviews data,
which is certainly not in XML format (we wish!).

It might be helpful if you you send us (or send me, off-list) a
screenshot of the error condition.
