Dear Allin,

I remember we had an exchange of mails regarding building a universal package for gretl. My new Intel iMac has arrived and I can gladly afford to spend some time (in quanta ;-) ) in building a universal for gretl.

I should tell you that I have no prior experience in building a universal package - however, have experience with building binaries for my PPC and Intel separately. So kindly bear with me on that when I am on the learning curve!
You also mentioned about some guidelines on building a universal package - if you have any information, kindly send me the same.
Thank you.
best regards
Arun

Ideally, we should have a so-called "universal binary" package for
gretl on OS X (which will run equally well on PPC and Intel).  But
we're short of Mac expertise and we don't have such a thing.

If your student has a PPC mac (go to the Apple icon on the menu
bar and look at "About this Mac") then the current disk image will
not work, it's purely Intel.  In that case, using the PPC
disk image of gretl 1.6.5 is currently the only option.
