Most of us on the Gretl list are sufficiently intelligent to ignore those queries or threads that we are neither interested  in nor have anything to add or wish to add and simply delete them, without resort to expletives and insults.

Many appreciate the efforts of the Gretl support team or users who offer advice and assistance, given without expectation of thanks, though doubtless it is satisfying ocassionally if they receive it.

Students from different cultures have varying experience of student centred learning , many coming from top down talk and chalk delivery systems, and some lack confidence and seek reassurance of their understanding.

That is why and how the Gretl User list  functions supporting a membership with a wide range of academic experience, expertise,  tolerance and empathy, or evidently for some, a lack thereof.
