While testing again, I replicated the problem but also receive a text message, "Dropping make: string-values series"

Then, put all variables in a list, executed "summary" and it worked fine.

At last, re-executed the "summary", received the same text message BUT the output is ok!!!!!

checking in the console. Or do you mean the CLI program
directly in the shell?

Oops, I'm a little bit confused now with the termikology ...probably you're right: the CLI in the Shell (well, the windows titre is "gretl console")
However, after testing around a little bit I realized that it doesn't happen always:
1) probably it happens when more then 11 variables are involved.
2) the summary command needs to be the first command in a new "console" window
