Well, the install problem is that configure has not found any "install" program, and has left that variable blank in the Makefiles, so nothing will happen. There's something else rather worrying in the configure output: it hasn't found a way to produce shared libraries.

When you run configure it automatically produces a file named config.log (which contains different information from that printed to the terminal). If you could send that too it might be helpful.

What versions of OS X and Xcode are you using?
