Hi Artur/Sven
checked Help Add Ons(at the very bottom of the list of items).-

All that appeared was this.

There was no mention of the k means package.  However, I thought it worth a try downloading the package again. Lo and behold it loaded and attached to the GUI. So thanks for your help whcih led to a solution, though the logic of this process still seems obscure. Had kmeans been listed in the Addon it might have been clearer why.

Hi Brian,

It's really weird that the addon "logging" -- which comes with the
installation of gretl -- cannot be found.

When you click on Help/Look for addons, do you see an entry "logging" in
the new window? (It's date would be from 2021, which looks old but is OK.)

Can you see "logging" and/ or other addons listed here (e.g. "extra",
"SVAR", "gig")? In total, I have 10 entries here.

If you don't see "logging": Is there a button to install something (in
the same sub-window)? If so, please try to install "logging".

#Another check:

In your program path (on Windows something like C:\\Program...), there
should be a folder named "gretl" on your machine (don't know which OS
you're using). There you should see the following folder structure:

gretl
|- data
|- db
|- doc
|- functions
    |- extra
    |- logging
    |- ...

Can you find a folder named "logging" here? If not, I can send you a zip
file with the relevant folder which you can unzip under the "functions"
folder.

Best,
Artur
