Please be more specific with the usual information - what gretl version, what kmeans package version etc.

"logging" has add-on status (as opposed to contributed package), which means it should be automatically installed. In principle it's possible to have it deleted manually or through some other way, though, and then there might be errors. So, can you verify its presence on your setup?
