Dear Colleagues:

I teach principles of econometrics (among other subjects) at the ISM University in Vilnius, Lithuania. In our computer lab classes we have computer terminals connected to the Windows 2003 server (64 bit system) which runs in a terminal server regime. Our university has the SPSS v.15 available to students and instructors at our facilities, however I am not a big fan of SPSS. This semester I recommended my students to try GRETL at home and I regularly use it myself. I think it would be great to have GRETL also in the computer lab, if not now then at least in the future. Unfortunately our IT guy was not able to get GRETL installed on our server. I believe he tried to compile the needed files using the source posted at http://gretl.sourceforge.net/ but somehow could not succeed.

So I would like to ask you maybe somebody had a similar problem? Maybe you could give some advice about it. If you need more technical details about the IT system at our university or what specifically went wrong I will be glad to provide it. Sorry for taking your time and thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Jonas
