I haven't tried it, but it might work to use the values of the wanted variable as so-called "case markers" or "observation labels" (right now I believe both terms mean the same thing in gretl), and then please see the paragraph "Displaying data labels" in ch. 6 of the user guide. Whether it works for you or not, it would be useful if you could report back with what you found out.Would it be possible to program the capability of adding the values of a variable as labels to the points of a scatter plot?
To this end, it would be great if gretl was extended so that it could import textual variables as well.
I believe you are talking about "string-valued series", please see chapter 16 of the user guide.
