That's my doubt too. I'm going to uninstall/reinstall gretl and keep testing.

Definitevely, after, testing and testing this should be a (yet tenacious) Mac related bug. 

I tested also on Windows 10 and it works fine so there's nothing wrong with the translation.

OK good to know. But do I understand correctly that this only happens with one forecast-related alert window which you described before? If that is so, maybe that could provide a clue about the problem. Some internal technical circumstance would then seem to be different in the context of the string in that window.
