Just an Idea.  If you have a local printer that prints and binds theses you might consider getting him to print and bind a copy of the current manual.

I sympathize with that point of view. Maybe we should explore
options for making a printed copy available. But it would have to be
"on demand" and somehow tied in with gretl updates: we wouldn't want
to spend a lot getting something printed just to end up with unsold
and outdated stock.

As time permits, I'll try looking into that possibility.
