</div></div>Gretl does not support series with string values.  You have to<br>
refer to values by the numerical codes that gretl writes into the<br>
&quot;string table&quot; that it prints for you.  This table is purely for<br>
the user&#39;s benefit; gretl itself cannot do anything with it.<br>
