Once I had the same problem. It seems to occur when the wrong gretl directory is selected under preferences.

Allin, before now there wasn't any itmes inside the "Time Series" Menu group related to cointegration: I must have messed up with my first install I suppose....

Do you mean that under the main-window Model menu the "Time
series" entry is inactive/greyed-out? That happens if the
dataset you have loaded is not recognized as time-series,
which can be fixed under /Data/Dataset structure.

If you mean that the Model menu doesn't have a "Time series"
entry at all, or that the Time series menu is accessible but
doesn't have a VECM entry, then sorry but I have no idea
what's wrong; some weird breakage must have occurred in the
installation.
