Gretl 2020e, build date 2020-11-21, Gnuplot as bundled with Gretl, OS Windows 10. Some time after posting the message I tried again and it worked all right, so the error ("C:\Users\pc\AppData\Roaming\gretl\.gretl-8664\graph.1: No such file or directory") appears to be random, which in some respects is even worse...
