I am a retired teacher aged 74. I do not know the high level discussion in computer language, but always use Gretl for writing research papers. I always mention it. My friends also use it and mention it. It is indeed excellent.

I also mention gretl in all of my work. Nevertheless, I am not sure the multiplier effect of this communication channel is really big -- at least in my case :-)
