Allin, Sven
Thanks for looking into this. As I said csv, rtf and text all failed. So I will look to see if a clipboard in  another app running in the backgr5ound (eg Mozilla, Gmail, Excel)might be interfering, although I did clear the Windows 11 clipboard.

Failing that I will try an earlier Gretl version and hope for the best

Brian

Like Sven, I have tried to replicate this problem with the current
gretl snapshot on Windows and couldn't do so: copy and paste worked
fine from an armax forecast window (both plain text and CSV).

On Windows, "Cannot open Clipboard" means that the Windows API
function OpenClipboard() failed, which happens if another window has
opened the clipboard and not yet relinquished it. I suppose it might
also be caused by rogue behaviour of a Clipboard Manager other than
the built-in Windows one. Anyway, the gretl code dealing with the
clipboard on Windows has not been changed in a long time: this is not
a newly introduced bug, and I don't think it's a bug at all.
