Artur, you're getting some sort of raw spew from the web server
(an error message, I guess) instead of the package listing. Try
this in a browser:

http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/gretl/cgi-bin/gretldata.cgi?opt=LIST_FUNCS

and see what you get (it's the URL that gretl calls internally).

I just tried getting the package listing via gretl on macOS and it
worked OK.
