Sorry, gretl does not currently support value labels.  You can
have a label for a variable and a label for an observation, but
in the case of a variable where the numerical values represent
qualitative features, it's up to the user to keep track of that
mapping.

This might be nice to add at some point, but it would require
quite a substantial change in the way data are represented within
gretl.
