I think you have somehow entered a strange invisible character in the option string. If I copy the script directly from your email into Nedit, the first --robust-hac (outside the loop) is OK, but the second appears as --?robust-hac with a question-mark before the 'r'. In the gretl script editor, try deleting the option string and retyping it carefully. Allin Cottrell
