Hi Allen, I have just got back to my sort problem under Windows 7 on
my Intel PC. I am running the May 2 build, which I downloaded. I
can import the attached file, run OLS, get summary stats, etc, but
when I sort on a variable, ascending or descending, I get an error
that GRETL has stopped working and it closes. I have the same file on
another PC running the January 24th 1.8.7 build and the file sorts on
any variable. It is running VISTA. So, I am reluctant to load the
May 2 build onto that machine :) and so I am curious if you can tell
me what is wrong here. On the new machine with the 1.9.0 build, I can
open any sample file and sort any field and no problems. Very strange
to me. Do you want me to email the file to this address or to
another? thanks for your help.

If it's not some weird 32/64-bit thing, then it's presumably a
gretl bug: if the data are bad you should get an error message,
not a crash. If you could send me the data you're using off-list
that might be helpful.
