Disclaimer: I hardly ever use session files, so maybe my comments are
somehow off the mark. That said, Why can't you just send you students a
individual zipfiles with the data in gdt format and a text file with the
questions? That way, you could also include script files or anything else
you want.
Anyway: session files are mostly intended for interactive use, so there's
very little common ground between them and the scripting interface. If you
want to manipulate session files, you may find it useful to know that a
sessio file is just a zip archive, which contains a bunch of text files,
either in xml format or as hansl scripts. All of them should be editable
with any decent text editor. When you're done, just re-zip the whole bunch
and change the file's extension.
