Thanks, Fred. I think the crashing issue should now be fixed. At first
I was able to reproduce the crash on a Macbook but with the current
gretl code I'm not seeing it any more.
That doesn't mean that the xls file will be read OK by gretl. As I
mentioned, the dates in the file are broken. Going via CSV should
work. Maybe at some point we can figure out a workaround for broken
FRED Excel files.
