I wouldn't have mentioned it on the list if it hadn't been for Jack asking if there any problems on Windows 8 with recent gretl versions. I guess it is still possible that the vague problems that Jack's students encountered have to do with the lazy installation over existing previous versions; perhaps it has become more important with recent versions to do it cleanly?
