As you probably know, Google pays students to contribute to Free
Software projects through the Google Summer of Code project.
The developers of the free software decide on several project ideas
that can be completed over the summer and submit it to Google. CS
students around the world apply for accepted proposals and work on the
project alongside with a designated mentor.
I just wanted to remind the developers that this might be a good
opportunity to implement several features on the todo list. Here are a
few project ideas:
-- Improving the preferences dialog so that more things such as the
convergence tolerance settings, random seed etc. can be set using the
GUI.
-- Improving the GUI in general (things like the ability to insert
various lines or curves in graphs by entering the formula).
The project should be doable in 2-3 months by a student without too
much experience in gretl or econometrics.
Having students with their own project ideas would be nice also.

What do you guys think?
