I already installed new fonts which then were available in e.g. Excel, hence
it's a GRETL specific issue.
What you're choosing via that dialog box is the monospaced font
("fixed-pitch" in Windows-speak) in which gretl's fixed-format
output will display (e.g. output from model estimation).
When gretl calls the Windows font selector it therefore restricts
your selection to monospaced fonts. On Windows 7 I'm seeing the
following choice: Consolas, Courant, Courier New, Letter Gothic,
Lucida Console, Lucida Sans Typewriter and Prestige Elite.
Believe me, gretl's output will look stupid and broken in a
proportionally spaced font such as Arial or Times -- so we do
everyone a favor by not showing such fonts.
