I hadn't tested before, because I thought you had agreed that 2019c
would be affected.
But indeed I have tested now on a fresh 2019c install on Windows 10, and
both the parallel_specs example script and another snippet from this
thread appear to run fine. Good to know! So I can remove my check to
avoid running on 2019c.
In git and today's snapshots I've given up on trying to get real-time
MPI output on Windows (so basically reverted to what's in 2019c). If I
can think of something really clever I'll revisit the issue.
