I do all development in PHP for my software and call gretlcli for running batch scripts to
run nls fits. I also provide the source code to other universities who have similar
development efforts. In my functionalities, I do enlist Windows as a platform for running
my package. The clients would of course have to download gretl by themselves to make the
plugin work. However if gretlcli for Windows does not work, then the functionality to run
the nls fits will not work for them. So, I'd strongly vote for keeping the cli for
Windows active.
Thanks!

I wonder if anyone ever uses gretlcli.exe on Windows? I've

I should have seen this before.
Page 220 of the Gretl user's guide in "The command line interface"
states
<quote>
Probably the most useful mode for heavy-duty work with gretlcli is
batch (non-interactive) mode,
in which the program reads and processes a script, and sends the
output to file. For example
gretlcli -b scriptfile > outputfile
Note that scriptfile is treated as a program argument; only the output
file requires redirection
(>). Don’t forget the -b (batch) switch, otherwise the program will
wait for user input after
executing the script (and if output is redirected, the program will
appear to “hang”).

which describes exactly what I mean.
