While we're on the subject: a few students of mine reported "problems"
when trying to install gretl on windows 8. Can anyone confirm? And if
so, what is the problem, exactly?
I have installed the snapshot on Win 8 (8.1 I think, 32bit on 32bit)
today, and while OLS works, I get an error dialog window when I try to
estimate an ARCH model. I cannot say whether this would have worked on a
previous gretl version, though. Will also try on a Win 7 machine.
