To the developers: Maybe it would be better if you could
construct a GUI dialogue, somewhat like the GUI dialogues for
model selections (like for OLS) for selecting the variables
instead? It would be more intuitive and easier for a user to
understand how to select the variables.
I've made this change for gretl 1.6.2:
* menu items such as the correlation matrix are not shown as
disabled if only one variable is selected.
* if only one variable is selected, then clicking on such a menu
item brings up a selection dialog; but if more than one variable
is pre-selected, the pre-selection is used and the dialog is
bypassed.
