Ha, I suspected there could be a nice way of using "join" for the job, and
naturally Jack has found it!

Ah, I think this is due to the invalid identifiers in your tsv files, for example
"Attendance_L-Skew_I1" (dashes/minus signs not allowed).
"join" is supposed to be able to handle this; the use of the
"fixname"
function in Jack's script is the prescribed mechanism. But apparently
something is going wrong in this case. We'll investigate.
