That's something we used to support, but it was lost when we
switched to using gnuplot to draw boxplots rather then using our
own code. (We reckoned that using gnuplot had some compensating
advantages.)
However, in the gretl GUI you can get numerical values for the
quartiles by clicking on a boxplot and selecting "Numerical
summary", and you can place labels on a plot by selecting Edit and
going to the "Labels" tab.
