Yes, I mean the --filter option of the join command.
And for the key statements only 2 keys are allowed)
I also use the --description option when reading in series and noticed that the nice
/"te xt/" separation is not supported by the strsplit function. Perhaps that
could an improvement, what do you think?

Thanks, I could replicate the problem and it's now fixed in CVS;
snapshots will follow tomorrow. (It was specific to a binary data
file that contains observation labels.)

You mean with the --filter option? Right we only support up to 3
elements in a filter.
