This is a bug in OS X 10.7: when you double-click a disk image
(.dmg) file the image is mounted OK but the user gets no visual
indication of what has happened. To find the image, open the Finder
and navigate to the foot of the left-hand pane. There you should see
an entry named "gretl". Double-click, and the contents of the image
should be displayed; at this point you drag gretl onto Applications
to install the program.
