This happens with every used dataset.
For example, I used dataset from gretl's database - Ramanathan Data 4-2.gdt.
The estimated model is OLS with one dependent and 3 independent variables,
const and time trend, with no lags.
I think that the problem is related to XP. I tried on two different
machines. The problem remains.
I can only try with another Windows version such Millennium.

I tried to replicate your instructions as strictly as possible. Nothing wrong
happens on linux. If other people using windows confirm the behaviour you're
seeing, then it must be a bug in the windows version.
