Jack, I'm a bit shocked about this connection between "quite easy" and
"couple of days"! (Allin is not the benchmark here.) Not sure if you're
going to hire more C coders like this... ;-)
Like Allin said a few days ago, incorporating some new C functions into
the libgretl source is only part of the job, not necessarily the most
time-consuming one; then you have to debug the code, check that it works
ok against known benchmarks, write the docs...
Clearly, some of these things are shareable work and the person who runs
the test cases or writes the docs doesn't have to be the same one who
writes the C code. Allin and I have worked together in many cases like
this, also making the most of different time zones. Of course, though,
some competence in modifying the C source and building it to try things
out helps a lot.
