Hello Dr. Schreiber,
I wonder why in the R consol the "following code" doesn't appear (page 218
of the GRETL handbook):
gretldata <- read.table("/home/jack/.gretl/Rdata.tmp", header=TRUE)
attach(gretldata)
Rdata.tmp does exist on my directory, GRETL produces it, but no sign of it in R...
Thus for me the question rises whether there is a bug in my configuration of the two
programs or it is due to a change in Windows 7 compared to XP.
Well at the moment I'm pretty happy with GRETL and the only thing I could need in R is
the facility to run log-linear models of contingency tables e.g hierarchical models.
But I have know idea how to do such things in R...
Thanks a lot
Pindar

Hi there,
I’ve just installed R on my Windows 7 PC and read about the cool
connectivity between the two programs.
GRETL opens R and produced the temp files, alas there is no code written
in R, it’s just a new window.
Can someone help me with this problem?
You mean someone should write code for you? ;-)
Seriously though, can you describe what are you trying to do with R from
gretl? Just establishing the link between the two programs of course
doesn't "do" anything yet.
cheers,
sven
