I believe the patch below necessary too. However, not all problems are
solved. Allin, I'm sending you a session file from Artur with a more
in-depth analysis; I'm not sending this to the list cause I believe sane
people (as far as econometricians can be considered sane people) are not
overly passionate about the gory details.
Maybe not the gory details, but the overall road towards the solution...
With the snapshot dated 7/7 Artur says his problems are gone. However, I just saw that
there's an even newer snapshot already in place and in cvs the log entry says
"more session fixes". Should yesterday's snapshot be avoided or what's
behind this?
I would like to suggest releasing 1.7.6 just for fixing this bug. Personally I don't
work much with session files (because script files can't be stored inside them IIRC),
but this bug seems very bad. Since some weeks have passed since 1.7.5 was released, I
wonder how many users just got scared away instead of reporting the bug...?
But as always: thanks for the effort and the extremely quick response!
