Sorry for this :-( I forgot these important details: Windows Vista, Gretl
1.9.9cvs (build 2012-07-21).
OK, I can confirm that this happens (the Help can't be raised
above the dialog box) on Windows 7. I'm not sure how to fix it
but I can try some experiments.
