In response to some useful prodding from Sven here's an update on
gretl's web presence.
If you visit the (English-language) main gretl page (hint: hello,
webpage translators!) you'll now see, under the "Features" listing,
links to pages for the gretl addons, namely
http://gretl.sourceforge.net/addons.html
and the contributed function packages
http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/gretl/cgi-bin/gretldata.cgi?opt=SHOW_FUNCS
In addition these two pages now point at each other.
The new addons page is auto-generated from the addons sources, so it
should stay up to date. It includes links to the PDF documentation
for each addon: these documents can now be found under "doc" in the
"addons" directory of the sourceforge Files area.

The contributed packages are now mentioned twice: in the itemized list
and below that list. I think the item in the list has now been
superseded and could be deleted (doesn't have to be, of course).

Excellent! I think this is really useful as an additional quick way to
show and get to the resources. And I know that documenting stuff and so

big Thank You to Allin for his stamina in that department!

;-) One more thing is required to complete this little sub-project:
provide a link to the PDF doc for uninstalled addons in the

OK, but once a user is already within gretl and also online, installing
the addon first to get the help doc doesn't strike me as a high burden.

Update: the correct reference for the addons page is now
http://gretl.sourceforge.net/addons-data/addons.xml
The old file will be deleted before long.
