Hi Sven,
you're right I should be more precisely. You can find the resulting
graph attached -- it is simply empty. Using gretl's internal
"--time-series" option works but for some reason the time-dates
disappear for a restricted panel and the x-axis is just a sequence from
1 to T.

Working with panel dataset restrictions my experience is that right
after the restrictions I often have to tell gretl again how the dataset
is structured, with something like
'setobs unitindex timeindex --panel-vars'
Perhaps worth a try.

Just to check, you did substitute 'unitindex' and 'timeindex' with the
relevant variable names for your case?

Yes, I did so :-)
For the unresricted dataset "setobs unitindex timeindex --panel-vars"
works fine, but not for the restricted one.
