I'm really only interested in the gretl library itself, as I hope
to wrap it for use in Python. Is it possible to get past the
configure step without all the other dependencies?
Good question. It should be, but currently the configure script is
not set up in such a way as to enable that.
Gretl 1.3.4 will be released shortly. I'll try to add a configure
switch --disable-gui (or similar) that will cut out a lot of
dependencies, for that version.
