I use MacOs 10.4.11 (a Mac Book)
I would like to install Gretl, becausa I started using Econometrics.
I tried to download the software but it didn't work.
Can you help me?

Hi, welcome to gretl.
Did you install the X11 software package? It's on the MacOS DVD but
AFAIK is not installed by default. (You don't need to know what it does,
but I think it's still necessary for gretl on OS X.)

Most likely problems:
* Apple's X11 not installed (as Sven mentioned).
* GTK+ Framework not installed.
* Wrong architecture (Mac is Intel but PPC gretl package
was downloaded, or vice versa).

Can you confirm me (For Mac users) that installing the GTK+
Framework<http://r.research.att.com/gtk2-framework.dmg>I have to give
the access to the "core" of Mac?
I said no to the access at the core of the computer because any software
asked that before

The GTK package will want to install to the central location where
the other "Frameworks" (shared libraries) are. I don't know about
the "core" terminology, but you'll be asked for an administrative
password.
