I have a suggestion for the next version of gretl. A much needed (in my opinion) feature is the capability of plotting data on a XY scatterplot in different symbols according to their membership in groups, e.g. in "+" if some CODEVAR=1, in "o" if CODEVAR=2, "-" IF CODEVAR=3 etc. It appears that such a scatterplot is indeed available in Data>Graph specified vars>XY plot with factor separation... BUT the factor may only be binary (i.e.have 2 values). This is an unnecessary restriction. In fact, such scatterplots would be very useful in panel data analysis, for instance.
