I am a research scholar at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (India). I
am using Gretl for applying random effect tobit model. But as I run this
model "*Invalid Option __opg" *appeared. I want help to run random effect
tobit regression. Hoping for your early reply.

That's quite strange. The error message you're geeting seems to come from
the polled Tobit regression that is used to initialise the parameters.
Could you try to see what happens if you run a pooled Tobit model on your
data via the "tobit" command? Thanks.

I have also run simple tobit model. I provides the output. But when I tried
to run random effect panel tobit regression, it didn't work.

Jack, but apart from this problem, why is the --opg option used for the
tobit initialization at all? AFAICS only $coeff is grabbed, and that
doesn't depend on opg, or does it?

I believe it's used to make initialisation a little faster, but I really
can't remember :D
