next release, Canova_Hansen package
by Cottrell, Allin
We plan to release gretl 2023c within the next 24 hours.
One point to note: if you use the Canova_Hansen function package you
may want to hold off updating gretl for a short while. We're aware
that this package will not work with gretl 2023c but a fix for the
package is in the works. Once the fix is ready you can update both
gretl and Canova_Hansen, and all should be well.

First "Cheat Sheet" for Gretl now available!
by Artur T.
Dear Gretl Mailing List,
We are pleased to announce that we have created our first "Cheat Sheet"
for Gretl Software. The Cheat Sheet is a useful tool that can help you
quickly learn (or look up) the basics of data handling and work more
efficiently.
A Cheat Sheet is essentially a concise summary of the key features and
commands of a software. It provides a clear overview of the various
functions and their usage. The Cheat Sheet allows you to quickly get an
overview and find the necessary information without having to search
through lengthy documentation.
We would greatly appreciate your feedback, suggestions for improvement,
and ideas for this Cheat Sheet. Your input is important to us in order
to further enhance the Cheat Sheet and tailor it to your needs.
We encourage you to use the Cheat Sheet in your university courses and
to promote it. It can help your students quickly familiarize themselves
with the software and increase their efficiency in data analysis.
You can download the Cheat Sheet at the following link:
https://github.com/gretl-project/gretl_cheatsheet/blob/master/datahandlin...
Thank you in advance for your interest and support!
Best regards,
Artur

New version of my book
by Riccardo (Jack) Lucchetti
Hi everyone.
As some of you know, I wrote the textbook for my own econometrics
courses myself. Since some people here on the list have expressed some
interest, I'd like to announce that I just finished writing a new
chapter on panel data.
Additionally, I also prepared a zip file with the replication material
(in gretl, of course).
The link to the book is:
http://www2.econ.univpm.it/servizi/hpp/lucchetti/didattica/basic.pdf
The link to the replication zipfile is:
http://www2.econ.univpm.it/servizi/hpp/lucchetti/didattica/replication.zip
You're welcome to download it and use it in your own courses if you
want. And of course, I'd appreciate any comments you may have.
Sorry for the shameless self-promotion!

Re: Determining Unequal optimum lag length
by Dhanasekaran Kuppusamy
Thank you very much Artur and Luccheti. Both the codes are working very
well . I was able to determine the optimal unequal lag length for the
ARDL model using your codes.
with best regards,
Dr. Dhanasekaran K
