However, you can start coding your own functions now. All you lack at the moment is a fancy graphical interface for calling your own scripts. The point in a free software project is *NOT* about money, it's all about blurring the distinction between coders and users. A lot of effort has gone into beefing up the script machinery (functions, matrices, loop refinements and so on) because contributing to the gretl source is near-impossible unless you have a decent knowledge of econometrics and C. If we move the entry point to script writing, we should -- hopefully -- lower the barriers to entry by a large margin.
