Hi Allin, thanks for the help, I kind of freaked out when GRETL
crashed on my new expensive machine, I will look at the data and see
if something is corrupt. I have had several emails from others and my
confidence is high that it should work and that this is some specific
error with my data.

I'm not able to test on Windows 7, or any 64-bit Windows system,
and offhand I have no idea why there should be a problem running
gretl on 64-bit Windows. There's supposed to be a 32-bit
compatibility layer.
It might help gather relevant information if you run gretlw32.exe
with the "--debug" option flag, and note exactly what you are
doing when the program crashes. When you say "sort by a field", do
you mean sorting the contents of the main window by clicking on
the column titles? That's a GTK operation, but I can't find
reports of problems with GTK on 64-bit Windows by googling.
